Thanks for the quick answer, customer is not using the hyper terminal, he wants to setup everything from a public ip, im not sure if he had installed the powerchute or if only using the network management card software

you need to use and set up the powerchute network shutdown, once you have have the NMC configured by [following these instructions|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3061/]. after that, once you install powerchute network shutdown, you can configure options 1 and 2. for question 3, refer to these documents -> http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1003, http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/948.
hope that helps.

well, in order to get all of this accomplished, he needs to configure the AP9631 and then install the powerchute network shutdown to acheive a graceful shutdown. the Network Management Card and powerchute network shutdown software talk over the network to get this done. you can install the powerchute network shutdown software and then access it remotely if you have remote access to that server or client or access the powerchute network shutdown installation via https://
the following APC application notes may help more in explaining how this whole process works:

hope that helps. they can use any method to set up the NMC that is mentioned in that article. it doesnt require hyperterminal but you do need to get network settings assigned to the NMC. no way around that.
