Is the BR1500 going to get an upgraded look soon? I'm wondering if it'll eventually look like the updated BX1500LCD?
Another thing is I just read a thread that indicates it is possible to connect either a PDU or APC surge protector to add more outlets... is this correct?
Why is it that a APC surge protector will work properly yet any other off brand will not?
What would be the next step up from the BR1500 if someone needed to monitor roughly 1000-2000 watts of equipment?
Thanks.

Good day Ryan,
The Back-UPS RS 1500 will be updated soon with a newer look and design, I will check with our Back-UPS team on when this will be available. The new unit will have an LCD interface and one of the features is the power-saving mode in line with the going green campaign of the company. For your reference, the new Back-UPS that will be released looks similar like this one [BX1500G|http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BX1500G].
Power Distribution Units can be attached to an APC UPS as long as it doesn't exceed the capacity of the UPS, you will normally see this setup on higher UPSes such as APC Smart-UPS. The APC Smart-UPS product line offers higher VA and Wattage capacity than our Back-UPS, if you would like to know more about our APC Smart-UPS product line please click here --> [APC Smart-UPS|http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=165] and [APC Smart-UPS Online|http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=163].
Also, it is not a recommended solution to connect a non-APC surge protector into our equipment I would like to offer you the following knowledge base articles:
