I bought this unit at Frys 2 months ago and has been working fine. Today it shut down emitting a solid non stopping beep and doesnt work.
I have been using it on about 30% load for 2 months.
I unplugged it all day and tonight tried turning it on again. Even with nothing connected it immediately goes to a loud sold non stopping beep and it doesnt work.
I am running the Powerchute software which tells me that the battery unit is overloaded when I turn it on even though nothing is connected.
I am outside of 30 days at Frys and they wont help. I believe the product was registered when I installed the Software.
VERY disappointed in this product. How do I get help and support???

It seems odd that the beep would continue after disconnecting both the battery and power from the UPS. In that case, it shouldn't last more than a second or so before the energy reserves within the UPS run out.
Good luck. I think you'll find that APC does a good job supporting their product and that you'll have a replacement in good working order very soon. Don't let one bad example sour you to every APC product.

It'd be worth a shot to do what is called a "braindead" of the UPS. Power it down (although it probably is already, considering the noise it's making), disconnect AC power and unplug the battery. With all of these things disconnected, depress the power button for a few seconds. Don't be surprised if the UPS reacts briefly.
Restore the battery and AC power connections. Turn the UPS back on and see if it's any better.
If not, the best way to get a replacement UPS would be to call the APC support telephone number for your part of the world. In the US, that's 1-800-800-4272.

thanks for the reply! I tried what you said. As soon as I press the power button it just starts emitting the continuous beep - no matter how long or short I hold the power button.
I will call APS support and hope for warranty help. I called tonight but was 15 minutes after they closed.
Very disappointed in how this product has worked out.
BTW, the manual says this might mean battery is disconnected so I checked that and it is all OK. No idea whats causing this.
thanks!
