I have 4 pc's running on my home network (8 monitors) all equipment is rack mounted with 1 smart ups 2200xl and 1 3000 xl. I have powerchute business edition 5 node, My problem is the software only sees the pc that the apc cable is connected to (com1). How is it suppossed to see the other peripherals and pcs that are powered by them?

Given that you have 4 total PCs to be managed by this single UPS, it's recommended to use the Network Management Card, such as AP9617, with PowerChute Network Shutdown.
The price of the network card is very similar to the price of the Share-UPS accessory that would be needed to connect the 3 additional computers to the UPS, in addition to the existing PC using the Smart-UPSs internal Serial port.
The flexibility of managing all the systems over your already existing IP network is a huge advantage over the possibile limitations of having to connect the 3 other PCs via 940-0020 Simple Signalling serial cables to the Share-UPS device.

In order to shutdown multiple nodes connected to 1 ups you need one of the following:AP9607 2 port interface expander for serial simple signaling shutdown, AP9207 share ups 8 port serial interface expander for simple signaling shutdown, or a AP9617,18, or 19 network management card and powerchute network shutdown for ip shutdown. The AP9607 or AP9617 go into the smart slot in the back of the ups, the AP9207 is a 1U rack mount appliance. Let me know if you have any other questions.
