Hi all,
trying to set up a rack, and the power to feed it, for my company.
Planning to work with two 3PH feeds, each coming from a different floor. At the moment I won't be needing the full capacity, but having it available is nice. The setup I was thinking about is in a pretty picture in attachment
Because we're not using the full capacity at the moment, we can use a smaller ups, and an ats for extra security. In a later stage (full rack, maybe some blades) the A feed would probably become a 3PH 16A as well, on a more powerful UPS, and we would unfortunately lose the ATS.
The only bit of tinkering that has to be done is attach a iec 309 plug to the 3-wire UPS input.
Anyone care to comment on this setup? Is it too much? ๐
cheers,
wim

Wim,
It looks pretty good. However, I'm looking at it from a Tech Support standpoint. You've seemed to have minimized your points of failure, where it's 3 POF's on one side of the server, and only 1 on the other side of the server. You can't really remove the ATS(1) from the picture since it is sourced by a 1PH and 3PH source, and powers the UPS(2), which then powers the PDU(3). Do you plan on having switched PDU's in place to be able to control the outlet delay, reboot, etc.? I think outside of that, the only thing you may want to look at is to make sure everything is network manageable, and if it becomes like this on a larger scale, possibly implement Infrastruxure Central to monitor everything.
