Hi,
My first post here although i have done a little search on here for this particular query but did not find a suitable solution.
I have a server running Powerchute business edition and the Agent, during installation of the agent the server detects the UPS fine. and in the Device wizard of the server application it finds and configures the server fine too.
I am using the serial type black SMART cable that shipped with the UPS, and i know there is communication between the UPS and Server over the cable but i am still getting this error when i run pbeagent.exe, any ideas?
Thanks in advance, J

have you tried to reboot this server? what if you try to change the log on to a specific account with administrator privileges? also, see if you can enable the service to interact with the desktop.
let me know what happens with that. after researching a bit, this looks to be a message from the Windows Service control dispatcher.

Hi,
Once again thankyou for your help with this.
I have removed the AV engine from the server and reinstalled pcbeagent.exe and still get the same problem, i tried step 2 but found that j2re1.4.2_15 was no longer available so i tried j2re1.4.2_19 which was the closest match i could find and this did not work either.
I removed version 7.0.5 and installed 8.0.1 and i still get the exact same error.
So at present i am running pbeagent.exe 8.0.1 with j2re1.4.2_19 and no anti virus installed.
I have attached screenshots of the different tabs for the pbeagent service.
Thanks 🙂
