fixing older Symmetra

We are trying to revive a 6kv Symmetra with an XR frame. All the batteries are dead and before we buy all new I'd like to make sure there isn't a bigger problem. I can get into the management card and there are no faults but the XR is not showing a number on the display. Would batteried need to be in place for this to show? All other functions appear to be fine and I can stsrt/stop the unity and take it in and out of bypass.
