Hi Juergen,
We've got a pretty concise description of the differences in this forum post: http://forums.apc.com/spaces/7/ups-management-devices-powerchute-software/forums/general/10956/nmc-l...

Hi,
Based on your other posts I assume you are running PowerChute Network Shutdown on the servers. Based on that assumption you can configure sequenced server shutdown from within PowerChute. See page 81 of the PowerChute User's Guide. The shutdown is configured from within the PowerChute web interface by selecting Configure Events - Runtime remaining below threshold and clicking on shutdown. When the battery drops below the set amount of time PowerChute will begin the shutdown process for the server. Each server should be running PowerChute and each can be configured with a different amount of remaining runtime.
You can also configure sequenced shutdown also known as load shedding from within the network card depending on the model of UPS and network card installed. We would need to know the model of the UPS and network card and network card firmware to provide details.

I have another question? Should I open another post?
How could I setup Sequenced Server Shutdown with different runtime remaining threshold like in the Standard User Guide? Where I find the configuration for different threshold at the agents?

Hi,
You can configure load shedding for that unit.
Use these settings to automatically shut down an outlet in response to one or more conditions. To enable a condition, mark its checkbox and configure its value; you can enable multiple conditions.
If you use PowerChute Network Shutdown (PCNS) on this outlet, be sure "Skip outlet off delay" is not checked so that PCNS clients can safely shutdown. Also, each PCNS client has its own set of conditions that may be configured to start a shutdown.
When configuring load shedding remember anything that is connected to the specified outlet group will loose power when the outlet group powers down. If not protected by PCNS and if PCNS has not been associated with the outlet group that is shutting down any attached systems will have AC cut and go down hard.
