Hello,
First of all i had to many problem with the software(was using PCBE 9.0.1). When power cut for 1sec and comes back the Windows shutdown process initiates and then the UPS turns OFF itself, this was extremely irritating. I had 24mins of battery life at first within a month its showing only 3-5mins left. The default windows drivers and power options just work fine but it ain't right using that for network ups.
Now i tried re-installing the agent again. I noticed that during auto detecting of ups communication ports its detecting my UPS as 1000XL. I pretty much got no idea where i am going wrong. Do i have to install a driver prior to installation process?

k. Then i'm using default windows power feature. Atleast that does a proper job. When power comes back it stops the shutdown process. Thanks for your help.

Hi Hanif,
To start with, let me gather information about your unit to assist you better. Would it be possible for you to retrieve the exact model number of your UPS? This would normally be found either at the back portion of your UPS or in front. It is printed on a small white barcoded sticker.
Next, can you tell us what kind of cable was used to connect your UPS and your computer. Is it serial or USB? From the research that I've made. It appears that UXI models do have external batteries on it just like an XLI model but with much beefier chargers. That would make sense why our software detects it as an XL model.
Have you also configured PCBE after installating it? Like was it configured to shutdown immediately or does it need to wait for a certain amount of minutes before issuing a shutdown command?

This is my model:-http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SUA1000UXI
SUA1000UXI. Yes it has external batteries. No internal battery. I have connected it via USB. I have configured it properly. Still if i turn off the main power switch for 2 secs and turn it on still the Windows shutdown procedure is initiated after 5mins and then the UPS shutdown procedure.I tried draining battery completely and recharge still didn't work. Don't know if battery is faulty its been 11months since i bought it had 40mins backup when i bought the 2 batteries. Do i need to replace batteries for every 12months?
I have only less than 5mins battery backup left now. The 5 battery leds start blinking when gaming. The only purpose i bought Ups and battery was just for safe shutdown when power cut. And i have not overloaded the UPS. its always at 45% with speaker, monitor,pc,router, modem connected.

Can you get a screen shot of how the PCBE is configured to shutdown your PC? You can log into the Web Interface and then go to Configure Events.

Kindly click on Events and then Actions, this should give you the list of events that are configurable. Get a screenshot of all the events that is configured to call a Shutdown. You would know that it calls the shutdown by means of a green dot under Shutdown column.

Based from your screenshot, it shows that it would only shutdown on the first 3 events listed.
With regards to your UPS being detected as an XL unit, it is how PCBE treats it. It is the same as an XL unit, XL units do have the capability to adding more battery packs for additional runtime.
