Which battery on the Smart-UPS X 3000?

I'm getting a Replace Battery warning on my SMX3000RMLV2UNC. Problem is, it's not saying which battery needs to be replaced (I have the expander battery connected as well). I logged into the UPS Network Management Card on the failing unit but it doesn't specify there either, it just says replacement battery needed. Since there are two part numbers for this, how do I know which one to order? APCRBC117 or APCRBC118?

Cody

This already happened to me, and it is because of a problem with the 12V 7Ah Batteries that have both the external and internal banks. This is why I come to your end of useful life, Batteries have an average of 3 to 5 years of useful life. By which you must make the change of these.

Hi Cody,

The only way to find out which battery went bad is to perform a self-test with no external batteries attached. If the replace battery light does not come on with zero external batteries attached, you know the issues lies within one of the external battery packs. Now, try attaching external batteries and remove the internal battery of ups, perform the self-test. If the replace battery indicator is not lit with the external battery pack attached then the issue is with the internal battery. Self test can be performed through the display of the UPS or the NMC web interface.

Regards,

Vinay
