Where are the "app" .bin files?

In the documentation and misc forum posts I've been reading, I've been seeing references to two .bin files -- the aos and app files -- though after downloading several firmware revisions, I've yet to see an App file included in the package. Where are these App files located?

I'm running an AP7901. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Thanks much for the reply!

The only file listed in FTP is apc_hw02_aos_116.bin -- no app file, which explains the status of "P+ N+ A-". APC support suggested I correct the issue by updating in steps starting with apc_hw02_aos227_rpdu220. Unfortunately, the bin files aren't being accepted via XMODEM. I'm connected at 96008N1, and XMODEM is using the same baud rate.

Once I start the transfer of the AOS bin, the log scrolls by too quickly for me to see what it's doing, then pauses here:

????????????[xmodem upload - Press CTRL-C to quit]?????????????
?Xmodem sectors/kbytes sent: 1/ 0kRetry 0: NAK on sector ?or
| Retry 0: Got 52 for sector ACK ?
?Retry 0: NAK on sector ?
?Retry 0: Got 20 for sector ACK ?
| Retry 0: NAK on sector ?-------
?Retry 0: Got 41 for sector ACK

Also, "About System" is showing two AOS installs, which is weird, because FTP only shows a single .bin.

hi milkman,

if you are at AOS 1.x, you need to go to AOS 202 first, as outlined in the firmware upgrade instructions. AOS 202 is included with each firmware update.

can you no longer FTP to the card now? it may take some tinkering but here is some info. when you have an AOS and an APP on a card and upload the new AOS first, it overwrites the old APP on the card so briefly, you have two AOSs. the second file, the new APP, overwrites the old AOS, and thus you have a new AOS and new APP on the card.

it seems that you are stuck at the point with the new APP and AOS. what happens if you try via FTP?

by the way, do you have a case number from tech support? i am the tech support team leader on the product and would be glad to assist you over the phone since it can be a little difficult depending on what stage you're at.

if you want, i can email you and set up a time to chat unless you want to continue on the board but we may get to a resolution quicker while working on it, if you can while on the phone.

I would definitely appreciate the assistance. My incident ID is Incident: 100805-000857.

Are you available around 4:00pm CDT (in 1hr, 20 min)?

Just wanted to say a huge "THANK YOU" to i picKed a winna for assisting me with this issue. With her help, I was able to update the firmware and restore the app needed for DNS and Web access.
