I have 5 AP9617 NMCs on my network (all running sumx 3.7.2 & aos 3.7.3).
On three of them, every page of the NMC web interface shows the device's IP address in the top left corner (next to an "i" inside a circle)
On two of them, every page (that same location) shows the FQDN of the device (as configured in "Administration, Network, Naming")
ALL five devices have their respective hostnames and domain names set up identically in the NMC. I've been through every tab searching for any differences in their configs, but can't find any.
Having their hostnames there is what I want, and is very convenient when managing multiple devices.
So, what exactly determines whether the IP address appears up top vs. the FQDN?
Thanks!

Hmm. I know I looked it up before with one of the firmware guys but I cannot find my notes on it.

To make things more weird, when I woke up and checked them again this morning, all five now have the hostname.
Same question - what query or config location determines the value of whatever is displayed there?

stevejenkins - I was always told it tries to resolve that every 24 hours using the configured DNS servers. A reboot on the management interface will probably force it as well.

Thx, Angela. Tried NMC multiple reboots, and that didn't affect it. I'm thinking maybe it was 24 hour wait period.
