Update I called APC's tech support had them create a case# on this: C1-2305888790

I have a couple of different UPS's with NMC's installed. This problem also comes up when I try and enable SSH on the console. These problems also happen on both the AP9617 and AP9619 NMC.

When I called APC tech support the lady experienced the same problem on her end with AP9619 NMC. Her senior engineer said it might be something with having the environmental features on the same NMC. But that doesn't explain why it's happening on AP9617 NMC.

So while I was waiting on Hold, I was clicking different links on the NMC page and it started working. I was able to set SSH V2 and enable HTTPS access. I logged in to a different UPS that had a AP9617 card and it still didn't work. Both NMC's have the same firmware installed.

I think it's a bug in the code. The tech support lady did come up with a work around. Basically you download the config.ini and make the changes manually then upload the config.

Here is how you download the config: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321

You can download the Event and Data logs and the configuration file directly from the Network Management Card. This is helpful in situations that require backup of data and/or settings. This is done using the FTP protocol.

APC currently has two families of Network Management Cards:

-Network Management Card 1 (AP9617, AP9618, AP9619)

-Network Management Card 2 (AP9630, AP9631, AP9635)

Please follow the below procedure:

1.) Open an MSDOS prompt (In a Windows environment: Start > run > "cmd")
2.) Change directories to the directory that you want the files stored in.
3.) Type ftp. Press enter.
4.) Log into the Network Management Card with the Administrator login.
5.) Type bin. Press enter.
6.) Type hash. Press enter.
7.) At your command prompt, type getconfig.ini. Press enter.
8.) *If using Network Management Card 2 only, it is now necessary to change to the /logs directory on the card. To do so, type cd logs.
9.) Type getdata.txt. Press enter.
10.) Type getevent.txt. Press enter.
11.) The files have now been downloaded and are saved to the directory that was specified in step 2.
12.) Type bye and exit out of your MSDOS prompt.

I believed I worked with that rep when you called in and we went ahead and tried the CONFIG.INI procedure on one of our AP9619 cards. We've never experienced the issue on our AP9617's but I went ahead and asked the Product Specialist to see if they've encountered that issue before on the AP9617.
