Hello, sorry if my English is not good.
[Background Information]
I am using a IBM branded UPS "IBM UPS 10000XHV" and a Network Management Card (NMC)"AP9619".
When logging on to the web interface of the NMC, and going to the "Administration" > "Notification" tab,
there are several UPS events that can be set as a SNMP trap.
You are able to put a check mark on each event (attached picture 1)and set it as a SNMP trap. Initially, for experiment, I set all the existing events to send SNMP traps to see whether if it really sends out traps. However when I experimented on a couple of events, the trap receiver did not receive all the events. For example, in the Security group, there is an event named "System: Web user logged in"(attached picture 2). This is a informational serverity event and can be set to trigger a SNMP trap according to the web interface settings, but the trap receiver did not receive a trap.
I heard that only the events that are written on the powernet.mib file do actually send traps. So I opened up the mib file but there are so many things written on that file that I cannot ascertain which event on the web interface links to what is written on the mib file. Currently I am using "powernet388.mib" file.
[Question]
1.Why is there a setting for every event when actually some events are not sent as traps.
Is it a design flaw?
2.Can anybody please tell me how to link what is written on the mib file and the events on the web interface.
Thank you

ok, to begin, you are several firmware revisions behind and behind on the MIB too, so lets upgrade everything to start.
1.) you will want to download/upgrade to SFSUMX372 on the APC website, which you can search for that SKU. flash the Network Management Card (AP9619) using any of [these instructions|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/768].
2.) here is the link to the latest MIB - ftp://ftp.apc.com/apc/public/software/pnetmib/mib/403/powernet403.mib
i suggest using a MIB browser and navigating the MIB in an easier to read format. You can check out all of the traps available here: .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.apc# or .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0 - this is the subtree where all the traps are listed.
i dont have a master list for you unfortunately for the events that your UPS supports versus what other applications and UPSs support unfortunately. you may need to compare the traps listed in the MIB via the MIB browser to your config.ini, which you can download via FTP from the NMC, to see what events are supported by that application.
regardless, if the web UI says that a trap can be sent for a particular event, you should get one.
