VX Racks: Wide Regular vs. Wide Networking

Hello,

I came across this post in a different forum and just wanted to bring it up here. This is the exact customer question from the separate forum:

"I'm laying-out a cabinet for use as a patch-bay. I'm starting with about 90 jacks in-use, but I need to plan for it to grow to about 300. I'm looking at the 750mm-wide APC Netshelter VX as one option, because APC lists it as compatible with their 5-inch deep by 2U (3.75-inch) vertical D-rings.

APC also sells a "Networking" version of the same cabinet, which appears to have large wiring channels at the back. If that provided more cable management space, I might put the patch-bay at the back-end, and use those channels, rather than using D-rings on the front. I'm not sure what kind of rings are compatible with those rear channels.

Has anyone here used either of these cabinets to hold a patch field?"

The difference between the VX wide rack and the VX Networking rack is basically the vertical mounting rails in the Networking rack provide much more space for cable management by reducing the mounting depth. This does allow for more room in the rear of the rack for excess cabling. The D-ring cable management accessories will fit in the rear, with room to spare.

If anyone has ever come across this issue, please feel free to respond.

Thank you very much.
