I'm utilizing the buisness application software for powerchute and running the server, agent, and console on my homeserver. I wanted to use both my smart ups 2200rm3U (serial connection) and a 1500 smart ups (USB) connection for the server. However the 2200 does not show up under the profile and I don't know if that is because only one UPS can be used in an individual profile for the sotware or my system is just not connecting well through the serial port of the server. Is there a way to check the communication outside the powerchute software to find out if the UPS is indeed connected correctly? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi codename47,
Powerchute Business Edition only facilitates a one to one local connection (i.e. one PC to one UPS). Powercute Business Edition uses a single service that uses the communications port to communicate with the UPS, that is the reason you only see one UPS in the software. What you can do is attach the other UPS (the 2200) to a different PC via the serial or USB cable then install the Powerchute Business Edition Agent then add it to the PCBE server that runs on the PC that has the 1500, given that both are on the same network.
