Not having much luck here as my first post didn't get any replies.
I have had real problems getting firmware downloads because the Filter is sub optimal. Using manual method (ftp) I have been able to upgrade my NMC 2 cards to a recent firmware version and have done it for the three cards I have so they are all consistent.
Why I am posting is that the older machines only have AP9619 EM cards installed which may no longer be supported but I would at least like to bring them to the final upgrade version. I shall do the upgrades manually but are there any "gotchas" which could trip me up. For example I have not found the bootmon binaries in these AP9619 cards. Is this why the cards are now superseded?
If anybody is out there please help.
Regards,
Budge

@Anonymous user
The latest firmware for the AP9619 is 3.9.4. You can access it from this FAQ. https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA410359/

Hi BillP,
Many thanks for both your replies which are appreciated.
We have five APC Smart UPS devices which have been acquired over time starting in about year 2004 as I recall. All working OK (except one, of which more later) but have been used as stand alone devices. Their ratings are 2x3000VA + 2x1500VA +1x1000VA and our main need has been to manage power cuts. We get several a year where we are based.
The business has recently changed and grown and hence the interest in getting the networking capability up and running.
I have been able to acquire several AP9630 NMC 2 cards and have some of the earlier AP 9619 EM cards and I am working through upgrading them. I had found and installed the firmware for AP9619 on one card so thanks for confirming that. I have not been able to upgrade a second AP9619 because I have no idea of it's IP and have not yet worked out how to scan for an IP on a card which has already been configured but not by me! Also the Web access for PowerChute is not working with these yet.
The AP9630 are much easier so I shall use these in preference, depending on our eventual need.
Our loads are very light as we do not run any big servers and more and more work seems to depend on the "cloud." We do have a need however to keep Wifi and certain key subnets for EPOS systems up as long as possible, although during major power outages everything is lost.
If it is OK I shall keep working and ask more specific questions if I cannot find the answers in the knowledge base.
Thanks again,
Regards,
BudgieI

Hi BillP, further to my last post I have been unable to access one of the older AP9619 EM devices in spite of using the arp instruction to the MAC address.
I note there is a reset button. Is it possible to do a factory reset using this as if not I may have a bricked device?
Regards,
Budgie
