Hi All,
Our UPS model : SUA5000RMI5U. It is the new UPS we had replaced last week. The communication is not happening with the server and we are getting an error " Failed to apply configuration" when we discover device in the power chute business edition console. Version of power chute business edition is 9.0. Let us know some steps to trouble shoot. Not sure whether the cable is not compatible or not. We used the new cable which came with the UPS box.
Thanks,
Vidhya S

Hello - this UPS comes with a preinstalled Network Management Card - model AP9630. Is there a reason you are not using that? This should be configured with TCP/IP settings to allow you to monitor the UPS remotely and for graceful shutdown, works with PowerChute Network Shutdown to gracefully shutdown clients over the network.
Can you verify the cable part number you are using? There should be a part number engraved on one of the DB-9 connectors assuming it is a serial cable you have. And because the network management card is most likely still installed, this could be the reason is not working properly. You should not be using both PowerChute Business Edition and the network management card.
If you want to configure your network management card as we'd recommend, you can go to our knowledge base (http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/) and look at article ID FA156064.
