Hi,
An APC Smart-UPS has a microprocessor which calculates runtime based on the load attached to the UPS and on its battery or batteries capacity. The calculation is based on battery / batteries Ah. When the battery or batteries are at 100% charge then the runtime will be X and when the charge is 50% then the runtime will be Y.
