We currently have 7 Dell 2850 Servers in our server room. We also have an Overland ArcVault 12 Tape Backup Library, a Tumbleweed AS2 Secure Transport Server, 2 2948G Cisco Switches, a Cisco PIX and a Cisco Router. I want one unit to provide battery backup for all of these. What would you recommend?
I would like something that provides both Fault Logs and Event Logs and has the capability to add more batteries for more battery power if needed. Most importantly, I would like a UPS that has "True On-Line Double Conversion". Any information that you can provide would be most helpful.
Thanks
Ray

Rayk, APC has a great tool called the UPS Selector to help you determine what UPS to purchase, based on your load. There are several ways to use this tool, you can search for a recommendation based on wattage alone (if you know the wattage requirements of your equipment) or you can choose the devices you wish to attach to the UPS. You can then choose room for future expansion and your desires runtime. The UPS Selector will then recommend 3 possible solutions for you. I am the face behind this tool and am actually looking for recommendations and feedback for future improvements. Please feel free to play around with it and let me know what you think.

Sounds like you will need to look into a Symmetra, or a higher-end Smart-UPs RT unit.

These are all Double-Online Conversion. It depends on your exact configuration, whether you want a unit that has rack-mounting capabilities, or just stand alone. I would recommend that you call our Sales Department (877-272-2722). They'll ask you a couple of more detailed questions on your setup and can recommend the best unit based on your load.
I hope this is a good start.
