UPS Not Switching To Utility Power
I have an old BX-1200 UPS with brand new batteries. When I plug it in and press the power button, the UPS clicks and the green "on Line" light blinks a dozen times or so. Then the UPS clicks again and the "on battery" light turns solid (green "on Line" light still blinking). So far, I'm guessing this is normal. That said, the green light then goes out and the UPS remains on battery (it all beeps every 30 seconds).
Long story short, the UPS does not like (or detect) the utility power in my house. I have other APC UPS's that work fine in the same outlet. I have tried other outlets throughout the house without success.
The surge protector outlets on the back have 120VAC with the UPS plugged in.
When I power the UPS on, the protected outlets output 138VAC (with a load attached), then drop to 80VAC when the batteries go online. The UPS has been plugged into utility power for many hours.
Any idea what may be happening? Is this a candidate for the landfill?
