Hi,
Am just finishing the setup/configuration of an APC network management card (72-APC-AP9630) in a SURTA2000RMXL2U UPS unit. Started getting emails about a site wiring fault per the above. At least I know the notification process is working.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the root cause of what it sees? Would be nice to see what the exact issue was it found. The code in the emails is: Code : 0x0235
Thanks!

Hi Angela,
Thanks for the offer! The network card gives me a blue and white UI. I just disabled them altogether until this is resolved. The light on the back is red; while I have a background in electronics, most of it isn't related to household wiring and doesn't apply. I did have to build a 20 to 15 amp pigtail cord to get the unit to plug into the wall outlet. That said, it is a dedicated 15 amp circuit and the UPS is the only thing plugged in to it. The total draw on the equipment plugged in to it doesn't exceed 10 amps at best. I could swap it out with a 20 amp duplex receptacle or buy one of the conversion plugs to eliminate the 1' extension cord I built. Before you waste too much of your time, were I to have somehow swapped the ground with the neutral, could that have had an effect? Typically when I look at service panels (including ours), they are all going to the same ground bar.
Decided to measure the voltage on the female plug neutral and ground. When I did, the UPS dropped like a rock. Oops. It should have had 1+ hours on it. That is obviously a priority for me now. How do I test it without dropping my servers again? No sense of humor... 😉
Thanks!

Hi Ben,
What happened sounds strange - did you measure on the plug on the UPS itself versus the receptacle feeding the UPS? Perhaps the UPS somehow got shorted, if so.
I am more interested in exactly what you did here though because I can only suggest that you unplug the UPS and measure the receptacle. Or, did you unplug the UPS and measure at the receptacle and then the UPS turned off?
And yes, reversed polarity one way or the other could be the cause of this if you mis-wired the plug by accident.
