Two instances of APC Powerchute Personal is running in my PC

Hi

I am using APC BACK-UPS BE700Y-IN and I am also using APC Powerchute professional edition. The issue is there are two insance of the same application running in my system background. I have attached the snapshot of the thing. First thing I did to eliminate this issue was checking the star-up applicatiuons in task manager( being that I use Windows 8.1). And I was surprised to see there was only one option in the list and that too was in un-checked condition. So by definition its not supposed to start by itself when the system starts(atleast as of what I know). for whihc too I have attached the snap.

Pls clarify this issue as its driving me crazy....

Thanks

Here are my thoughts:

  • Are you able to right click or double click on both of them just the same to launch PowerChute? I ask since sometimes a program crashes and the icon there in the system tray does not go away until you try to access the old one that isn't really there anymore.
    • Do they open the same window/version?
  • Have you rebooted the computer since discovering this issue?
  • I don't see a listing for PowerChute in the task manager screenshot.. where do you see it there? Only one instance should be allowed to be installed and/or running.
    • Does it show up twice in Programs and Features within control panel?
