Hi,
My model is an APC Smart-UPS SC 1500VA 230V - 2U Rackmount/Tower which is used on two Windows Server 2008 R2 machines. One of the machine is connected to the APC with the USB cable. Should there be a long enough power outage I want both machines to turn off.
I tried to install the PowerChute Business Edition agent on both machine and the server component on the one connected to the APC with the USB cable. But every time I try to add the second machine with the Profile Wizard it failed to do so (no Windows Firewall, same user/password, same version of PowerChute).
What version of PowerChute should I use ? Is it only possible to do so ?
Thanks,

Unfortunately, Smart UPS SC only supports a USB or serial connection to one device. I don't know of another way to do it on this UPS besides perhaps having a command file via PCBE somehow log in to the second machine or somehow trigger that other machine to power down as well.
Smart UPS SC is more of a "value" Smart UPS so it has some features of other Smart UPS but not all. Other Smart UPS such as those that have a model prefix SUM, SURT, SMT, SMX, and a few others, support a UPS Network Management Card to gracefully shutdown multiple clients over the network. These other Smart UPS also support an Interface Expander which provides additional serial ports for the UPS so that you can run and install PowerChute Business Edition in simple mode to at least perform a graceful shutdown on multiple clients.
If anyone else has any other ideas, please let us know, but there is no simple way to do this for this UPS model.

The PCBE let me indeed execute a command file so I guess I'll try to do it this way.
Thank you very much for your precise response.
