Dear All,
I searched APC web pages for APC's performance test report IEC 62040-3 for SURT1000XLI units but could not find any document.
Please can someone help me with this test report.

Hi,
I asked customer of an IEC 62040-3 example report which he has from other manufacturers.
He sent the attached pdf which has a technical specification of a UPS in accordance with IEC/EN 62040-3. He mentioned this is only a sample file which has been downloaded from Internet and some of its internal data (e.g. subclauses' numbers and specifications) are not correct, however it can be considered as a reference. He explained further that the parameters mentioned in the tables should be declared by manufacturers prior of sample testing procedure.
Hope the attached helps in finding the test report for SURT1000XLI asap.
Thanks
Saeed

Sorry, something is missing from my above reply, so sending again:
Thank you for kindly trying to help.
In APC Smart-UPS RT brochure attached, 2nd page on left hand side (in blue, regarding SURT features), right at the bottom of page includes below point:
Warranty & Approvals:
Performance: IEC 62040-3, EN50091-3
Now for a banking ATMs project because APC SURT1000XLI is included in our proposal, for comparison reasons we are asked to provide:
Test report for " IEC 62040-3 Performance Approval for APC Smart-UPS RT 1 kVA"
All other approvals are given in APC web apart from this one.
Is there a general report for the mentioned performance approval in the catalogue? Or should customer mention the desired tests which they require the report for?
Kind regards
Saeed

Thanks very much again for kindly trying to help us.
Just a point to mention, according to a communication which we did with regards to specifying comparison items, they mentioned below required sections (or certain tests) of the report:
6.3.4.1, 6.3.4.3, 6.3.5.1, 6.3.5.2, 6.3.6.1, 6.3.6.2, 6.3.6.3, 6.3.7.1, 6.3.9.1, 6.3.9.2, 6.6.5, 6.6.2.6
I searched web and found the attached document " International Standard IEC 62040-3 {ed1.0}en ". The doc indicates for example:
6 Electrical tests for UPS
6.3.5 UPS output characteristics – Overload and short-circuit
Looking at this doc it seems customer has certain test values (numbered items above) and intends to compare them with the unit's test report or one can conclude that the standard can be describing test methods i.e. this is a standard (62040-3) to control if the tests of the ups device are made according to the known standards, (for example: at the non-linear load).
Honestly speaking, after studying it is not yet clear the scope and object of the standard.
Please can you help.
Kind regards
Saeed

i found some information..the IEC 62040-3 performance approval is not really a test report. it is a standard that companies use to verify that their product meets a certain criteria from the standard.
in regards to those standards that you mentioned, i will see what we have for them.
thanks though, what you mentioned is helpful so that i can see what data we have.

Thanks very much for trying to help me.
I was confused a bit, now is making sense after your answer and kind pursuits of an APC engineer in our region, thanks a lot, but unfortunately he couldn't go further with details of the specified tests.
Pls help me with any docs you may have. It will be great to show in this project that APC is the best choice by far for their requirement.
Kind regards
Saeed

Thank you very much for the documents, they are good and should be helpful.
Almost all the standards and approvals which are listed by APC for SURTs are available in APC web and are already given to customer but they are specificly asking for the numbered sections mentioned above from performance approval IEC 62040-3 for SURT1000XLI.
We have discussed with them the purpose of the IEC 62040-3 but still they insist in having the required certain test reports as shown above.
If possible pls help me with any of the one of the reports that they are asking. If not available pls can you guide me about what our final words should be to customer about his requested items.
Sorry, seems the subject in discussion is a difficult one but lets see if anything exists about their specific request.
Thanks
Saeed
