Symmetra PX batteries

What is the difference between the SYBTU1-PLP and the SYBTU2-PLP batteries (besides the cost)? Are they interchangeable?

SYBTU1-PLP are for SUVT / G3500 / PX1

SYBTU2-PLP are for the PX2.

The UPS won't recognise the batteries if the incorrect ones are inserted. As said above, SYBTU1-PLP are 7Ah, and the SYBTU2-PLP are 9Ah.

Hello Bryan,

Based off my experience with the Symmetra PX batteries, and the online spec sheet of the unit, there appears to be no difference within the batteries itself.  However, the battery module or casing that the batteries reside in may be different.  If you're doing a battery replacement, it may be more cost effective to purchase 12v9ah batteries from your local battery distributor.  They sell for ~$13.00 each, and from memory there are 8 batteries per module.

Hope this helps!

-Eric

What I see is SYBTU1-PLP described as a "Symmetra PX Battery Unit" and has 7.2AH batteries inside. SYBTU2-PLP says "Symmetra PX 9AH Battery Unit, High Performance" so there are 9AH batteries inside those. They would be interchangeable as far as I can see, just depends how much runtime performance you'd want.

If I may add to battery specifications comment - the 12v7.2ah battery was somewhat phased out years ago.  I believe if you search hard enough you may be able to locate them, however it would not be beneficial in any way.  The foot print of the 7.2, 7.5, 8.0, 9.0ah batteries are identical, in fact they are the same battery.  As Angela stated it will affect your runtime, but in a positive way.  More runtime is better!

Bryan, as an FYI - batteries in series don't like to be mismatched. I suspect your question may be due to a battery alarm, or it may be time to replace battery(s). Try to keep the same age and spec of the battery within one entire module.

-Cire/Eric

This is only partially correct. The difference between these 2 packs are they have either 7ah batteries or 9ah batteries. You can convert a sybtu1 into a sybtu2 by changing the resister on the circuit board inside the pack.

This is not correct. My PX500 can use sybtu1 and sybtu2 both. There is 2 difference in these packs. The 7ah or 9ah batteries and there is a resistor on the circuit board in the pack. You can change the R1, R2, OR R3 resistor (there will only one)

If you put 9ah Batts in a sybtu1 either the ups will reject it or use it as a 7ah battery causing you to lose the extra ah
