Symmetra PX 80KVA output power Off

Hi,
We have installed 02Nos. Symmetra PX 80kva on same input power source. Why only one unit goes down some time, when UPS go to switching.

BR,

hello,

I am not familiar with 3 phase UPS models in most applications so I asked someone who is.

they reviewed the logs and it seems as though both UPSs are seeing problems with the input voltage and are switching to battery operation. we couldn't see anywhere in the logs specifically where either dropped the load - can you point us to a specific timestamp?

the data logs show 0 volts input on all three phases at various times on both units so we are leaning towards an input power problem here. have you been able to investigate that aspect at all?

if you are still convinced this is a problem with your UPS and what i said does not help, i'd have to suggest you contact your local tech support to better serve you and assist with the issue.

01/28/2013 19:14:33 UPS: An input voltage or frequency problem occurred while in bypass, turning off the UPS.
01/28/2013 19:14:31 UPS: An input voltage or frequency problem prevents switching to bypass mode.

i just saw that event before it now that I know where to look. your UPS was in bypass and there was an input voltage problem or frequency problem and your UPS must be configured to drop the load if this is the case rather than passing the bad power or frequency through to your load. if you navigate to the web UI and go to UPS tab->Configuration->Power and you'll see an option for If UPS Fails (Select the response that will occur if UPS fails or there is an overload condition, and the voltage or frequency of the bypass line are out of range; either the UPS will switch to bypass mode or it will stop providing any power to its equipment load.) i also saw a power module fault reported a few days earlier - was that fixed?

this unique scenario must not have happened on your other UPS.

Hi,

We have recently faced the same problem in the APC Symmetra PX 80KW and it happened that the load was turned off, but i have one question: why the UPS was in bypass mode in the first place? and why the UPS did not supplied the load from battery although our UPS configuration was "switch to bypass mode" and not ;"stop providing any power to the load"?

please advise us.
