So about a week ago the display on my UPS changed from showing the proper charge (100%) and load (44%) to have no values for charge and load. I cycled through the status screens and everything was either blank or had ?? value. However, the UPS was still up and running and everything seemed fine. I figured it was a display problem, so I disconnected the display cable and plugged it back in- same thing though. Because of room maintenance, I had to shutdown the UPS this morning. When I brought it back up, the display never left "PowerVIEW booting, please wait..." to completely boot up. I waited and waited and it still said that same thing. I hit ESC and it dropped me to the status screen with the same values of blank or ?? for everything: charge, load, input volate, output, # batteries, etc.
Anybody have a clue as to what's going on?
Thanks,
Justin

hi justin,
this could be a few things. to begin, do you have your network management card configured and installed in the unit? either way, i'd log into it or configure it to see if that is providing any data to you. if it is, this may be a faulty powerview. if it is NOT, it may be a MIM issue or something else on the communication bus. are there any other accessories installed in the smart slots besides a network management card (which is usually pre-installed)? if so, i'd remove them all and reconnect the powerview to see if its starts working. then, i'd add each accessory back one by one, making sure that the NMC goes in slot #2 and any additional accessories in slot #1, since order matters. if they are installed in the incorrect slots, you can see an issue like this (if someone recently installed something else).
thus, it could be a bad powerview or a bad accessory or a problem with the MIM. try any of the steps above if you can to narrow it down. you can also check for bent pins on the cat5 cable on the powerview or the powerview itself. i am not all that familiar with these units but it also could be a bad display card as well.
if you need any help with this, i'd suggest contacting three phase tech support in your region for assistance.
hope this helps! let us know if you have any other questions?
