Hi everyone,
we have an AP7721 that has developed at strange behaviour, the Data readout is flashing from ER to something illegible, Possibly rubbish but resembles '¬' and the status LED is Green but flashes in sync with the data readout, all other LEDS (A,B feed indicator) are Green and solid, there seems no interruption of power (yet)
I can log on to the device without issue and there are no alarms, there are logs referring to display hardware issues but other than that no other sign of anything wrong.
this unit has not had a firmware upgrade or changed in anyway, prior to this it performed as expected.
My questions are:
1. is this unit likely to fail supplying power
2.is this dangerous 'electrically'

Hi Scott,
It'd be helpful if you can obtain the data.txt and event.txt per the instructions here so we can see them -> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156131
That way, we can see specifically the messages you're referring to and analyze them to provide a recommendation.
Based on what you've said, it is hard to tell if the unit will fail to supply power. Need to see the logs. And also based on what you've described, I don't think this is dangerous electrically but will need to confirm with messages seen in the log.
It also may not be a bad idea to provide a screenshot from the web UI of the Power Supply Status under Unit menu->Measurements in the web UI. Also the event counts screen under unit menu.
How long has the unit been in service by the way?
Lastly, it should be in the logs but please verify the firmware version of the AOS and Application module under Administration tab/menu->General sub menu->About.
