SmartUps 5000 RM DL4 Runtime Calibration Refused

Hi,

I have an older SmartUPS 5000 RM DL4 that I administer through a UPS Network Management Card 2. Over the weekend I had to replace the batteries as they were failing. I checked all the connectors and installed them. They have been charging for a few days. I ran a UPS self test from the NMC and get the following

BL%2B%2FTDGQHtzg%2BlCRa1JN7w%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.pngBL%2B%2FTDGQHtzg%2BlCRa1JN7w%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.png

I've done the self test a few times over the last few days mixed in with a few calibration runs and can't seem to get the UPS back in it's happy place. After a recent calibration via the NMC I get this:

WZ4hhGx7mF%2BFifH7UzA7qQ%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.pngWZ4hhGx7mF%2BFifH7UzA7qQ%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.png

Shutdown settings are as follows:

kawgSYwNY2Pl6bg4Auy%2Fow%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.pngkawgSYwNY2Pl6bg4Auy%2Fow%3D%3D&Rest-Api-Key=d3Bhc3F1aWw6NjM3MzU2MWEtNzYzMC00OTc5LTkyMTAtOTJjYTU0NGEwZWFl.png

I could use some help getting this beast happy again, thanks in advance.

I've seen this happen on one UPS before.  It seems when you plug too much load into it, it can't run off battery for some reason.  You'd think you can load it up to 100% but it seems you can only really get to 60-70% before it starts complaining.

I'm not entirely sure why this is - whether it's due to power factor, battery current limits, or what.  But it seems odd that you can have under the rated load connected and it's still too much for the UPS.

In my case I had 80% load connected to an older SmartUPS 1400XL and it would just shut off immediately any time the power went out.  I reduced the load to 50% and then it would run for 15 minutes on the batteries.  However - most surprisingly - when I swapped it out for a slightly newer SmartUPS 2200XL with the *same* batteries (albeit rewired from 24V to 48V) the thing ran on the orignal load (90% for the 1400XL) for over an hour.  So clearly the batteries had plenty of grunt, the UPS itself just didn't want to cooperate!
