SmartUPS10000 Alert:On battery power in response to an input power problem

Smart-UPS RT 10000 XL is giving alert UPS: On battery power in response to an input power problem. [0x0109] and the Clearing Event: UPS: No longer on battery power. [0x010A] under the Category: Power | Input Line Status. We don't seam to be having any issues and a self test comes out fine. The UPS is in India, but I have seen a few people post similar issues on various Smart UPS. I just cleared the logs as well but nothing has made a difference. we still get the alerts every few hours or so.

Anyone have a clue as to what the problem might be and how to resolve the issue?

Joe

you might want to check the data log and check the min/max line voltage during those times to see if anything was captured. if anything, i'd bet on the circuit. also, if you want to post your logs here, i can take a look and see if we think it is something else causing this but i haven't really seen an issue with a UPS with this type of symptom. it is usually something causing it to go to battery for a certain reason.

the logs would be a good place to start -> http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321

if you'd like, please provide config.ini (remove any specific info like IP, etc if you want), event.txt, and data.txt.

let me know if you have any questions on getting the logs.

how do you know the UPS is not actually going to battery? you can scale back the amount of alerts you get if you'd like or delay them so that you only get them if the power outage lasts more than a minute, for example.

to do this, go to the Administration Tab in the web UI of your network management card->Notification sub heading. from here, you can configure by events individually or by group/severity. you can track down by event, and go to this specific event if you'd like and change the settings if you need to.

I don't know. That's the thing it looks like it may be going to battery power for about 30 seconds and then recovering each time. Happening about 5 -10 times a day. However, we have no power issues at the office. Do you think there could be something wrong with the circuit, or does it seem more likely with the UPS itself?
