Hello All,
I am using SmartUPS SUA1500i with network management card 9617 connected to the network. I have installed the PCNS Network Shutdown software on my desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit.
The UPS is able to send notifications via email when a power outage and restoration and system cold start occurs. I need to know that how can I configure the UPS to send me an email whenever attached computer system shutdown occurs due to low battery situation. Maybe it is available as an option in the web interface of the UPS.
Secondly is it a way to configure the UPS to turn the attached computer back on whenever the main utility power is restored. It is usually done by sending the WOL (Wake on LAN) packet to the attached devices. Is it possible to be done via SmartUPS web interface.
Thanks.

hi.
all the available email notifications come from the NMC only. the only available events are under the Administration Tab->Notification->By Event or By Group.
You can receive events when the UPS turns on, off, etc but there are no events on the NMC to specifically tell you when an attached device turns on/off since that is not a UPS specific event. I'd browse through the events in the above menu that I mentioned to see what you want to receive.
as for the second question, we do not use WOL. [take a look at this article|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/948/] and [this one|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1003/]
basically, the UPS has a shutdown timeline. once it shuts the PCNS clients are shutdown, they need to use the UPS output to reboot to "wake them up" as long as the BIOS is set correctly as mentioned in those articles I am referring to.
hope that helps
