I have 2 rack mountable Smart UPS 2200XL units. It is giving me some troubles and I was looking to you all for assistance.
History: The UPS has been used previously in a in-office server room since it was purchased new. It was managed by my company (before I started). Shortly after I was hired on, that client shut down (a side effect of the housing market imploding). We inherited the APCs. The units sat in our climate-controlled store room for 8 months.
I have plugged in the unit into a dedicated clean power (tested by electrician to the spec). Let it sit plugged in but not 'powered on' for a week.
I have taken the battery tray to a local battery company for testing. They all test as good.
When I press the power/test button (for one second) the unit clicks and the lights on the front blink, but nothing else happens. I have since found out that I can press the off button and it clicks again (leading me to believe it is doing something while 'on but lifeless'.
If I hold the power/test button, it enters what I believe is the test mode: All lights illuminate and the unit starts a constant beep/scream noise. After 10-15 seconds, all the lights turn off except the "On Battery" light. The "Voltage Trim" light is dimly lit and the "On-Line" light is barely visible (could be light-bleed from the Voltage Trim, though they are different colors).
During this self test time, the devices are powered and can be turned on.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have recorded a video if that would he helpful.

If you look at the back of your UPS there is a sensitivity LED, can you check the status/ light of it? Is it Brightly Lit, Dimmed or Off? Using a paper cliip you can press the button to change it's state. See if thiss could change the state of the UPS.

The model number is: RM2200RMXL3U
I do not have the serial number with me, but I will PM it to you when I can get my hands on it. Just out of curiosity, why do you need it?

The serial number would tell me the age of the UPS. Also is it an SU or SU2000RMXL3U? Can you also check the battery if it bears any sticker that might say RBC followed by a number?

I know the battery tray is a "APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #27"
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=RBC27
The batteries themselves just say "APC Genuine batteries" with lots of verbage the type of lead acid and warnings.
