I've had a SmartUPS 2200XL RM in the work server rack for many years now, and it has always annoyed me how loud the fan inside is, it basically runs 24/7, whether its on battery or not, whether its charging or not.

We just recently moved locations, with much less equipment in a new server room, and this is the loudest piece in there. I have other rackmount 1500 & 2200's (Non XL) and they are quiet until they need to charge or running on battery.

In fact the 2200XL RM's fan runs even when the unit is powered off, and battery is disconnected.

Is there a way to configure this? I have it connected to a Windows server via serial cable.
