Hello,
We have one Smart UPS VT 30kVA. It is in bypass mode (static bypass mode), but when we try to go to normal mode it says "Unable to go out of bypass mode". The lever behind the panel is off/open, the input voltage is correct in the 3 phases, the load is 65%. We don't what can be the problem, maybe the batteries or the power module?
Thanks for your help

Hello,
I did some checking on this with our 3 phase tech support. We are not yet sure why it won't come out of bypass based on what you've said. It could be bad batteries, a power module issue (although that is less likely), a sensing issue with the Q7 breaker (internal maint. bypass), or pretty much anything. We would suggest contacting your local technical support for assistance. We would want to look at the raw status data the unit reports to find out why it's in bypass and also take a look at the active alarms/UPS log.

Hi,
I went back to our 3 phase support team and they told me this:
The raw status translates to:
That's bad news - you can try re-seating the power module (which might clear any false data) but failing that, the PM would probably need to be replaced. Also, since this UPS has not been charging the batteries, the batts may need to be replaced too (depending on their age and how long the UPS has been in this state). That would explain why it drops the load when there is a utility failure.

Hello Angela,
Thanks for the fast answer. In the UPS faults log there is recorded a "System failure detected by surveillance", and the RAW data is M States = 09 02 02 00000638 00000480 00000001
Another thing, probably related, is that the UPS doesn't supply the load whe the power goes off. But the problem comes in when the power comes back again the UPS is in normal operation and is not supplying the the load, so we need to change to bypass. To avoid this problem we tried setting the bypass switch into on or closed so we dont need to change to bypass manually when the power comes back. But when setting the bypass switch the UPS stops supplying the load, so the inly way to do it is by setting the static bypass each time the power goes on and off.
