Smart-UPS SRT 3000 "battery pack incompatible"

So in April I purchased an Smart-UPS SRT 3000 (SRT3000UXI-NCLI).
Today, (finally) arrived a pair of 1U battery packs (XBP48RM1U-LI), which at the time, I thought were the right ones..
However, when I connected them all up, it appeared to go through some sort of firmware upgrade, and now the main unit is telling me "battery pack incompatible".
Is this because they're not the "XBP48RM1U2-LI" models?..

The XBP48RM1U2-LI is the correct extended battery pack for this specific APC UPS Lithium model. You can affirm this in the APC resource link for compatible batteries:
