Not realizing I could hot swap the battery in this unit, I shut down the Win 2003 server and restarted with no UPS connected while I ran out to get a battery.
Installed the new battery, and downed the server again. Reconnected, and now I can't see the UPS in Powerchute v7.
The The APC PBE Agent is not running - at boot get this message "The APC PBE Agent service terminated with service-specific error 0 (0x0)."
Trying to start the service give this error: "Error: 0, Time out 90 seconds. Service start operation canceled"
Tried switching the cable for another APC serial cable, still nothing.
Any thoughts?

yep it is. it will be on the software and firmware download page. if something happens and it doesnt work, ill see about digging up the old version.

this sounds like something similar to this thread here. but, if you uninstall, version 7 isnt available anymore i dont think. you could disable any antivirus, etc and try to restart the service.
if you want to uninstall and try version 9.0, i will PM you the manual uninstall instructions.

I will try rebooting once more in an hour or so, and see if that corrects.
If not, I will take you up on your offer.
Am I able to download the basic version of Powerchute 9?

I rebooted, but still no UPS visible.
Uninstalled and reinstalled Powerchute and it magically appeared again.
Strange.
