Smart-UPS RT10000 XL self-test

Hi, first of all, thanks to the ones that will take the time to read this.

I have a Smart-UPS RT10000 XL, and its configured so every two weeks it runs an internal self test. My problem, is that I don´t know what that test does! So I don´t know what measures to take... Can anyone help me? I'd really aprreaciate it..
