Smart-UPS RT 8000XLi

Hi

We have just installed a new UPS running on 3phase, In the instruction manual its not very clear as to which way the rocker switch should be ( page 3 of the manual ) I have put an amp-clamp on each phase at the distrubution board L1 = 2.6A  L2=3.4A  L3=3.4A. Looking at the information it indicates that it will draw 15A/phase and when in bypass 40A on L1.. If you look at the web base management page it show the input voltage as 240v Shouldn't this be 400/415V with the outpot as being 230/240v.

We have via the web page put the UPS in to bypass but this seems to have no affect on L1 .  I would have expected that all L1/L2/L3 should all be pulling the same ?

Any advice Please

Some more feedback:

If you need full 3ph functionality, you would need a 3ph in 3 ph out UPS. This unit offers 3ph in 1 ph out as an added feature, but it is primarily a 1ph device and monitors power as such.

It may not allow it in 3ph mode so you don't accidentally enable it and overload ph1

Beyond that, I'd have to recommend you contact your local support for further details or feedback because we do not have this unit in North America so some of the answers are difficult to provide.

For this unit, if you want to feed it 3 phase voltage, the switch should be on 3. The phase draw will not be perfectly balanced and in bypass, all of the load will be pulled on L1. So, we believe what you're seeing is normal for this model of UPS. I don't have this available to set up so I can speak too much to the web interface information you're seeing as it may only show one of the phases.

Thanks for the reply, I guessed that it need to be on 3 to get the 3phase in, I'm suprised that they have no indiaction on the front or via the web monitoring that shows you are running on 3PH, If you were to loose a phase would you know, other that having a current / CT dispay on the dist board, The web monitoring should show the input supply as 400/414V not 230/240v as this would indicate single phase. Also noticed that if you try and put the UPS is bypass via the Web Gui it doen't work, If you do it on the UPs via the rocker switch it does and they L1's Amps start to rise as you would expect.

maybe some for the R&D bods to look at ?
