Hello,
we recently replaced all batteries from our Smart-UPS RT 7500 XL. After that the APC network management card reports: Discharged, No Other Alarms Present
After that we let it untouched for a week and then ran a selftest, but the status remained unchanged.
UPS status
Discharged, No Other Alarms Present
Batteries discharged.
Reason For Last Transfer To Battery: Due to software command or UPS's test control.
Internal Temperature: 031.9 °C
Runtime: 17 minutes
Battery status
Battery Capacity: 100.0 %
Battery Voltage: 216.0 VDC
Number of External Batteries: 001
Self-Test Result: Passed
Self-Test Date: 01/08/2014
Calibration Result: Unknown
Calibration Date: Unknown
The battery date is 09/2013
Eventlog:
01/08/2014 23:37:01 UPS: Passed internal self-test.
01/08/2014 23:36:56 UPS: Returned from a Low-Battery condition.
01/08/2014 23:36:56 UPS: Batteries discharged.
01/08/2014 23:36:46 UPS: Battery power is low and will soon be exhausted.
01/08/2014 23:36:46 UPS: Battery discharge condition cleared.
After the self-test the battery capacity dropped to 96%, which looks quite normal to me. Also, an available runtime of 17 minutes looks promising.
On the frontpanel, all leds are showing normal operation. Load is 60%.
So why is the management card showing a discharged battery state?
I read that it may have to do something with a battery constant which could be reset by doing a runtime test, which unfortunately isn't possible in this productive state.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

You're welcome - so yes, that was the issue. If the UPS runtime remaining is within two minutes of that low battery duration value, you'll see this as well as a flashing battery bar graph on the front of the UPS.
It's trying to tell you "hey, you want me to signal things to shut down (if configured) when 20 minutes remains (maybe to allow a safe shutdown) but I only have 17 minutes left!!" Thus, you may want to check into why this was set to 20 minutes in the first place. The default setting is 2 minutes.

Hello Angela,
it was set to 20 minutes. Changing it to 15 minutes cleared the error state.
Thank you
