My Smart UPS RT 6000 has just tripped our circuit breaker for the 2nd time in a month after the UPS gave off a loud bang. We had the unit replaced in early March under warranty after it was running fine for over 18 months and have now just had APC send a 2nd unit out.
The support rep commented that APC believed there is a fault with the inverter - what are the chances of this happening to separate units in the space of 4 weeks? and could there be anything else causing the issue?
The unit is hard wired through a 32A commando and the server cabinet/rack shares the same earth as the commando. We had this fitted by qualified electricians so it is unlikely (but not impossible) to be an issue related to this.
Has anyone here had a similar experience with the RT 6000 or any other UPS units?
Thanks,

Does anyone have any ideas on the above?
We have now received a 2nd replacement and I'd like to ensure that we are doing everything to prevent the same issue from repeating itself.
Thank you

Andrew,
I would like to research this for you. What are the case or RMA numbers you were provided by the Schneider Electric Technical Support Rep for each instance?
