Hi,
I have Smart-UPS RT 5000 XL (Model SURT5000XLI) fitted with Network Management Card AP9617.
Unit has been manufactured in 2003 and fully functional until removed from service some 5 years ago. At this time batteries have been removed from the UPS and disposed. It has been stored in room temperature dry environment for this time.
Since I found new purpose for this unit, I have purchased and fitted new batteries.
I also have replaced CR2032 battery in Network Management Card.
When I first powered up the UPS,I have received the following message in UPS Status section on the web interface:
'Off, No alarms present, Bad output voltage condition.'.
On the front panel the General Fault LED is lit (X) and together with the battery status LED 01000 (top to bottom).
In the event log I found the following events:
Date Time Event
10/08/2017 13:19:25 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
10/08/2017 13:19:13 UPS: An inverter fault no longer exists.
10/08/2017 13:17:11 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
10/08/2017 13:17:07 UPS: An inverter fault no longer exists.
10/08/2017 13:15:33 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
10/07/2017 11:45:37 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
10/07/2017 11:45:33 UPS: An inverter fault no longer exists.
10/07/2017 11:27:12 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
10/07/2017 11:18:46 UPS: An inverter fault exists.
The unit is also not charging batteries while turned on and is actually running on batteries as it has discharged my new batteries while I was troubleshooting. I have turned off the unit and disconnected the batteries, reconnected and then restarted UPS but it has made no difference.
Also when switching to bypass mode then there is no voltage on the output.
Is there anything else I can to find out if this is a genuine fault or to clear it?
