Hi please forgive my ignorance as I am a newcommer to the world of UPS.
We currently have the above UPS and are trying to get Powerchute to discover it and list it as a managed device. this is where we are failing it just will not detect the UPS at all. The UPS has the managment card plugged into the network and we are able to browse to it and log on using http. Are we missing something here is there a magic box I need to tick that will enable it to be managed by the software.
Sorry if this has already been asked, I did search but could not find an answer.
Thanks again.

hi-
powerchute business edition deluxe and the network management card essentially do the same thing. you should be using one or the other and not both.
for this reason, any version of powerchute business edition is incompatible with your particular UPS and as you have noticed, it will not even detect the UPS.
you can do all of the same things in the management card as far as configurations, graceful shutdown, etc as you can in powerchute business edition.
if you need to set up graceful shutdown on your servers attached to this UPS, you need to install powerchute network shutdown on those servers and upon installing, it will ask you for the IP address of the network management card so they can communicate over the network so the servers know when the UPS is going to battery or shutting down, etc that way, each server doesnt need a physical serial connection to the UPS.
if you still have the serial cable attached to a particular computer, you will want to remove it if you arent logging into the management card over serial communication.
you can download powerchute network shutdown here: http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm
you can select it from the drop down list and choose your operating system.
hope this helps!

Thanks very much for your reply.
I will download the required software and set them up that way.
