Hi all,
my UPS is doing a strange thing and i would like to learn why and how to make it stop.
Every 60-80sec the UPS sends an UDP package to a non existent IP in our local network.
The router logs it as Dst: xxx.xxx.xxx.255:3052, Src: xxx.xxx.xxx.252:51110 (UDP): connection refused. It's always the same except for the ports. There is nothing in the network at xxx.xxx.xxx.255.
I already checked the UPS network config and rebooted the network card.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Michael,
Do you have PowerChute Network Shutdown client configured with the NMC. If so the packet is being broadcast to the network segment. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA159540.

Hi Bill,
yes PowerChute Network Shutdown is configured with some clients, none of the clients have the IP in question.

Hi,
I apologize if the recommended document is not clear. When PCNS clients are configured the NMC will send a broadcast message to the corresponding network segment. Example NMC is configured with 192.168.1.10 and PCNS clent is 192.168.1.20. The NMC will send UDP packet to 192.168.1.255 or 192.168.255.255 on port 3052 depending on subnet masking. If there are PCNS clients on other segments they will get a unicast message. Those PCNS clients will in turn broadcast the packet to X.X.X.255.
