Hello,
I've got a Problem with a SmartUPS 3000 RM. We replaced the Batery Packs and now we get the following error massege:
A discharged battery condition no longer exists
he battery power is too low to support the load; if power fails, the UPS will be shut down immediately.
Is that (maybe) a Problem with the rechargeble Unit?
And how can I find out what exactly the Problem is?
Thanks for helping
Sven

hi
is this a genuine APC replacement battery?
what is the total percentage of load you have on the UPS? How much runtime is the UPS reporting? What is the low battery signaling time/low battery duration set to?
All of these items should be found in the software interface that it seems you already have set up.
let us know

i think what is happening is possibly your load is fluctuating a couple of minutes and getting close to the low battery signaling time (since its set to two minutes). Once the runtime gets close to the low battery signaling time, it starts to give you battery discharged messages.
do you know how much actual runtime you get on battery? is 5 minutes accurate to what you have seen in the past? it may be time to do a runtime calibration of sorts.
can you confirm the exact model number of the UPS from the UPS itself (the little white sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS)? we can try to adjust the UPS runtime constant through hyperterminal/terminal emulation if you are comfortable doing so or we can look into doing an actual runtime calibration and discharging the UPS batteries and letting it charge up to recalcuate the correct runtime. this is more time consuming and would require the load to be brought down so that the UPS completely turns off.

Well, we've done a RuntimeCalibration Test since 3 Days ago, and the resoult was 5 minutes Runtime.
The runtime befor was about 3 minutes, that was the reason to change the baterie pack.
At the moment, I can't look at the USV for the exact modell number, but I hope that this is also OK:
Model: Smart-UPS 3000 RM DL3
Serial Number: YS0330310483
Firmware Revision: 666.1DL3.I
Manufacture Date: 07/26/03
That is a good idea to discharge the Batteries or maybe Calibrate them.
Next Saturday we have a Desaster Recovery test and we can do anything with the USV.
Do you have a dicumentation how to do a recalibration or Discharge the baterie with the command line over a hyper terminal session?

ok yes, i would hold off on an actual runtime calibration and we can proceed with the hyperterminal once you can confirm one thing - is this unit 3U in size? i believe it is and once you confirm, i will PM you the instructions to do the hypterterminal procedure which wont require any downtime.

no, it is a 2U Unit, I am a little bit confused, because the description is 3U. Is it normal?
Thanks for the Documentation 🙂
