Smart-UPS 3000 HOW to make sure an unit managed through smartconnect did self test as scheduled

Smart-UPS 3000

I checked throughout the management page of smartconnect website and could not find anywhere showing when the last self test was performed. And no option of sending out email notification while self test started. HOW can I make sure an unit managed through smartconnect did self test as scheduled?

I try to limit mid-night surprise and so prefer to have all UPS start self test during working hours. And I have experience with some none-smartconnect managed UPS that starts self test hours after the scheduled time frame. So I have to manually start the test during working hours.

I don't know if any of my smartconnected UPS starts their test during mid-night even though i scheduled the test to be done during working hr, because again i have no way to know. No better way to verify if the self test is actually performed or not.

Hi,

You can view if the last self-test passed or failed under UPS Status - Diagnostics menu in the portal. If you have configured the UPS to allow connection you can also trigger a self-test from that menu. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA375690

But it does not show when was the last test passed. That is the problem. Once a self test was performed and passed it will always show "last test passed" but when? was it a test performed last year or yesterday? I have no way to know if a newly scheduled test is performed or not.

Yes, I can manually trigger the test. But tens of UPS, it will hard to do it one by one.

if there is no way to show the time the test was performed or no way to get notification upon test performed, can i get away with the "smartconnect"? and use the old school way, local web configuration to configure and monitor the UPS.

Thanks

Hi,

You are correct the set does not list the date of the last self-test. However, if the self-test fails it will change the status to failed. Also, you can configure email notification for replacement  battery needed that is triggered with a self-test fails.

Severity: Critical
An internal UPS battery self test has detected that the battery can no longer support its load, and needs to be replaced.
Assuming nothing has been change in the UPS configuration the UPS will run a self-test every 14 days from the time and date of the last power on.
