Hi,
Been searching for a solution for a while but unable to locate what I'm after, apologies in advance if this is answered. I have no experience with these devices at this level. Inherited one to look after/test/maintain, but not been able to browse to it on customers network, so tried an UP and DOWN for 10 seconds NIC reset, and now I have a red warning, firmware mismatch code G.04
Details I have are:
Smart-UPS 2200 (SMT2200RMI2UC) S/N: AS1839264791
UPS FW: 03.7, ID: 1015
MAC: 28-29-86-16-EC-6B
I have my MacBook connected via LAN straight to the device, but using IP SCAN, I do not see it on 192.168.0.0 > 0.255, or 10.0.0.1 > 0.255
Please advise my best course of action? I do not know if the system is running off mains or battery either?
Thanks in advance.

To be clear you did not update the firmware on the UPS or NMC? You simply tried to reset the NMC (Network Management Card)?!?
If that is the case you can try to format the NMC. Doing so will delete everything in the system and restore it to an OEM state and enable DHCP.
NMC Format: Remove the Ethernet cable. Focus only on the right side LED. Use a paper clip and gently press the reset button at an upward angle.
Press and hold the reset button until you see the (Right LED) turn orange. Than release the reset button and you will see the LED blink (alternate) green / orange very quickly.
Once the format process has completed the LED will go out (dark). Insert the Ethernet cable and you should see the new NMC on the network.
You can see the network attributes on the LCD of the unit indicating the DHCP IP Address, Subnet, Gateway.
Let me know if you have more questions and how the format process works out. 👍

Thank you, I will get myself back to customer site ASAP and try this. And can confirm, I had not gotten the chance to attempt a firmware update, only attempted the network reset from holding up and down for 10 seconds, and then saw that firmware mismatch error. Have been reading since I posted, and have located the firmware file I need, and hopeful that I can update that soon. Am also hopeful site are not just running on battery but mains only in its current state, but will know either tomorrow/Friday when I hope to get back.
Thanks Teken for taking the time to respond. Appreciated!!

I would suggest you get the NMC in a operational state where you can access it over the network using the format procedure I outlined earlier.
As an aside I’m a little concerned about the active fault you have called out on the LCD of the SMT2200 UPS.
Before you waste anytime with the NMC format please do the following and relay what you see and observe once done.
Remove the NMC from the UPS it’s hot swappable so take out the two screws and eject the card.
Brain Dead: This procedure will reset and clear the units MCU. This process will NOT resolve any internal hardware faults or improper firmware updates on the UPS! ☝️
Remove all attached loads from the output. Disconnect the AC Mains from the wall. Disconnect the battery cartridge from the system. Press & hold the power button until you hear a click / beep.
You may not hear anything at all too.
Reconnect everything besides the loads. Turn on the unit and watch the LCD. You should hear a few relay clicks as you pressed the power button this is good!
If everything is working fine the system will continue to complete the internal Self Test (POST). If it completes successfully and there are NO active faults you may continue to install the NMC.
Complete the format procedure as outlined above.
NOTE: If there are any active faults (after) you complete the Brain Dead procedure. Please do call them out as to what they are and provide an image capture that can be seen on the APC Forum.
You can also use the LCD to review the logs. Please call out what errors / faults have been seen in the logs.

Hi all. So it took a long time to arrange down time with customer, and a colleague ended up having to do this for me. All I know currently is its all back up and running. I will find out what was done, for others who may come across this thread in the future - but in the meantime, a number of other customers also have these devices, and I don't believe they've been fully configured - although I have been told I should not have tried to simply use the web browser, but a specific APC/SE application?
Best regards,
Al
