Smart UPS 2000 Rack Mounts ---- Available Runtime has Been Exceeded

These messages have been showing up in the SYSLOG and being "WALL'd" to folks online ever since
the rackmount UPS units have been installed. Has anyone seen this before and know how to resolve?

"Available runtime has been exceeded."
Feb 10 21:24:13 servername wall: [ID 254490 auth.crit] dtlocal in utmpx is not a tty

Thanks for your help.

Could you also paste your config.ini (FTP to the card and use the "get config.ini" command to download it) and tell us what your current runtime is and load percentage?

Buzz-
Once connected to the device via ssh I selected FTP to download the config.ini. It is menu driven and when I select FTP it appears to be in mode to upload. Can you tell me how I can "get" and download to local workstation the config.ini? Thank you kindly.

It might be a better idea to copy/paste ALL of the data to a .txt file and add it to your post as an attachment. That really isn't much information. Same goes for the config file, just make it an attachment.

Generally you need to use strict FTP access as opposed to SSH terminal to be able to 'get' the files we requested.

Start an FTP session on a graphical tool and point to the card, this should allow easy drag and drop. Otherwise from a command line use ftp , then put in your login credentials. The session will then be in FTP command line mode, and you can use the get command to get the event log, data log, and config.ini.

get data.txt
get event.txt
get config.ini

Generally what is your runtime on the UPS, i.e. if you log into the NMC right now and just view the Runtime, what does it say in hours/minutes? Also, it doesn't look like the low batt/batt discharge event has happened in awhile based on the UPS event logs....are you still getting these messages as of recently via e-mails from the NMC, or just syslog?

Also, can we have the exact model number and serial # on the UPS as shown from the sticker on the back/bottom of the unit?

So you're not getting an emails about the alarms? Do you have any email alerts setup on the card?

I haven't seen the exact message "Available runtime has been exceeded" so I, at least, was hoping if you got an email alert, you could get the corresponding error code from the alert and we could look it up.

Also, that looks like the description provided by the web interface, not the model number on the white sticker on the unit itself.

The emails have been turned off for this event via the UPS GUI. Here is an example of what is in the syslog:

Broadcast Message from root (???) on ###### Fri Feb 19 12:56:15...
"Available runtime has been exceeded." No error code shown.

I'll get the other information once I get back onsite. Thanks Buzz. BTW., this is occurring on several of our
servers.
