Smart-UPS 1500 fails to power up when the utility power comes back online

I have a Smart-UPS 1500, SMT1500RM2U.  After running out completely it fails to power up when the utility power comes back online.  Any idea why this would happen?  I have several others that do not display this behavior.

The battery may have weakened, causing the UPS not to power back up. It is not recommended to allow the batteries to drain entirely as they will degrade sooner than expected. 

You can set Load Shedding on the UPS so the UPS will power off before the batteries drain entirely. This can be done via an NMC or through the LCD panel. If using the LCD panel, the mode must be set to advanced.

Via a NMC go to Configuration – Outlet Groups

Via LCD, go to Configuration Menu Type to verify the setting is Advanced. Then continue to Configure Main - Group Outlet.
