Smart UPS 1500- Warning Battery End of Life

Despite replacing Battery in October 2022, the warning message is constantly coming up.

I believe the unit is working ok, so can the message be reset/disabled?

Yes. The battery replacement date can be reset. You should read the user manual for the Smart-UPS model you have. For example, if the model is SMT1500C to reset the replace battery date disconnect the battery. When the battery is reconnected the LCD display will ask if the battery is new. Answer yes the the date will reset.

Hi Everyone, we have a APC SMT1500IC model and was recently replaced by a battery replacement.

We tried to do exactly the procedures as stated by some of you here but upon reconnecting the battery and turn on the device, it does not ask or show ''is the battery new?''. Anyone can support us please with this concern? thank you in advance.

The UPS must be on when you disconnect the battery cable. ☝️

Once disconnected wait for the system to declare a battery fault. Wait another 10-15 seconds than reconnect the battery cable.

The system will prompt you on the LCD to confirm if this is a new battery cartridge. Toggle from No to Yes and enter the month / year and hit enter to save. 👍
